Prabal Gurung is a celebrated fashion designer known for his modern luxury aesthetic and commitment to inclusivity. He launched his eponymous label in 2009, showcasing his designs during New York Fashion Week. His collections have been worn by prominent figures such as Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton, and Sarah Jessica Parker. In 2017, he was appointed the Global Creative Director of Japanese jewelry house Tasaki. Gurung is also a co-founder of the House of Slay, a collective of Asian American creatives. As of December 2024, he serves as the vice chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America
